Who is Apple and Pear Design?

I graduated in 1983 with a degree in economics and began to forge a career in the financial sector. In 1987 I joined the family business.

I had to learn all aspects of the trade from the ground up; the operation, creative processes and execution of the manufacturing and importing industry.

Learning the production, styling, costing, purchasing raw materials and scheduling, working in shipping where I was taught how to summarize orders, pick and pack the goods and inventory control.  I moved on to office management namely receivables, payables the General Ledger and the daily operations of managing and running a business.

My passion was in the product design, sourcing and sales. I was the first to travel to China, Taiwan and India in order to expand our direct import business. Using this experience I pioneered expansion into other areas of design, production and buying overseas.

Turning Points

I bought the company: In December 1997 I bought the company, renamed it Mundi Canada and continued the family legacy. Always with an eye on expansion we branched out into the US, started a promotional division and upon closing our factory in 2000 transferred production from our factory in Canada to China.

I sold the company: In 2004, knowing a good thing when it presents itself, I sold the company to a large Canadian accessories importer where I stayed on to run the wallet and handbag division for 6 years.

I started a new company: With my vast wealth of knowledge in business, international network of industry people and extensive experience developing product lines, sourcing and sales the time was ripe for me to reach beyond Mundi.
